Nearly 196 million passengers travelled through airports in Turkey in the first 11 months of 2019, according to DHMI, the country’s airport authority.

The January to November figure was down slightly from some 197 million passengers in the same period in 2018 on both domestic and international flights. The number of international passengers grew by 11.4% year-on-year to 102.5 million from January to November 2019, while domestic passenger numbers fell by 11.5% to 92.8 million. Turkish airports served 1.9 million aircraft including overflights, marginally up from the same period in 2018. Cargo traffic reached 3.2 million t in the first 11 months of 2019.
